Canon PowerShot S90IS | Revolutionary Point & Shoot Digital Camera Review

So many people have asked me for a recommendation on a point and shoot.  My typical response generally "Whatever looks pretty to you" because very few digital cameras I review have inspired me up until I came across the Canon PowerShot S90IS.  Up until this point, there a few advanced point and shoots but they only helped more advanced photographers.  Not to mention they're big.  Now I've finally came across a digital point and shoot camera that I'm drooling to put into my pocket.

The key reason why this camera is so revolutionary is the ability to shoot in low light. Sure, a lot of cameras claim this, but very few actually are able to deliver on this promise.  The lens on this camera allows you to open the aperture up to f/2.0 (that's better than most DSLR lenses).  How extraordinary is that?  When I say better low light capability, I mean this will reduce the scenarios in which you need to use your flash.  You are all familiar with the scenario.  You see the nice pretty image in the LCD on the back of your camera when you're indoors and then you press the button only to see the flash has NUKED your pretty moment.  You try to turn off the flash and shoot again only to realize you get a big blurry image.  This camera will save a few of those moments.

It's greatness spans a huge demographic from beginning photographer to professionals looking for something to keep in the pocket.  As Chase Jarvis says, "The best camera is the one you that's with you".  Nobody can always be armed with their DSLR so why not have something that's sleek and high quality like the Canon PowerShot S90IS.

Here are some of the key reasons (not specifications) why I love about this camera for each user level.

  • Sleek and small
  • Quality on par with the Canon PowerShot G11
  • Much bigger sensor than your average point and shoot camera
  • 10 megapixels (nobody realistically needs more)
  • Low light capability due to f/2.0 lens and sensor size
  • Image Stabilization

  • RAW output
  • Improved manual controls
The Canon PowerShot S90IS is currently selling on Amazon for $406.  It's no steal, but well worth the money in my opinion and will make a great Christmas present for your significant other.  I hope to provide a more in depth review in the near future. In the meantime, don't wait any longer because this will sell out!! BUY NOW!
